This book includes the topics on introduction to policing, the Philippine police system, and the participation of local executives in police administration. Most of the topics in LEA 1 are from R.A. 6975, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Act of 1991. However, in order to present a brief history of Philippine policing, the relevant topics from previous laws that established policing systems in our country like P.D. 765 (Integration Law of 1976), R.A. 4864 (Police Act of 1966), and Act 175 that created the Insular Constabulary, are included.
